VLC problem when running using root in Kali Linux 2

By default, we are using root to work as penetration testing in Kali Linux. There is a problem when we want to watch video file using VLC . VLC does not allow us to use root. To solve this issue, you may follow this steps:
a. Open /usr/bin/vlc using a hex editor. In this case, I am using Bless .
b. Find word ‘getuid‘ (without single quote).
c. Change that word with ‘getppid
‘ (without single quote) and save it.
d. Try to open VLC. Now, you should be able to open it without problem.
